Why we upgrade

If you ever sit down with one of us at a meeting, you’ll likely notice we are using the latest Apple devices. Beside the fact that we think Apple can do no wrong (sort of), we believe that using the newest, most reliable equipment is good for both us and you. And when we say equipment, we mean more than the newest iPad, but lets talk about the iPad. 20130512-215614.jpg

If you’re looking for a tablet, we recommend the iPad. It’s the pioneer of the tablet industry, setting the standards. It works well with all other Apple devices (great for us), and even plays nice with Google, for you gmail users. We enjoy the simplicity of the design and the reliability of the software. One of the greatest things we like is that if it does need to be fixed, we can hop down to our neighborhood Apple store for repair or replacement. Kind of nice.
We also use the newest MacBook Pros for our work. These computers are powerhouses. Ours are saddled with 16GB or ram, the latest Intel processors (i7 for those interested), and 750Gb hard drives (that’s a lot of storage). These computers allow us to never be dragged down by slow reaction time. We thrive on our speed of response, and if we have to wait for our computers, we’re wasting our time and yours. Not acceptable.
We also keep our cameras up to date. We use a variety of cameras like Canon T4i’s and GoPro Hero 3′s. these cameras are not extremely expensive, but they’re very versatile. We love them and think they put out great products.
All this great hardware only works well with updated software. So, go update that software.
If you have any questions about technology, especially Apple products, hit us up. We’re happy to help!

6. Now, we need to change your movie to a music video. Simply right click on the movie and choose Get Info.

Choose-Get-Info

7. Go to Options and change the Media Kind to Music Video (This way it will loop. As a any other kind of media, it will stop after one play.)

8. Now to the Apple TV. (Bye, Bye Screen Shots)

9. Navigate over to Settings, choose Audio/Video, and turn on Repeat Music

10. Navigate back to the main screen and over to Computers.

11. Choose Music>Playlist> and navigate to your playlist

12. Hit Play.

Your video should now play and loop on your TV. If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch, or and iPad, you can download the iTunes Remote app. To use it, you’ll need to turn on Home Sharing on your Apple TV and Remote app.

Enjoy!

Setting up email on iPhone

We know you’re excited to get your email set up on your iPhone®, iPad® or iPod® Touch. We should have your email working on your device in about 5 minutes. These steps work for most of our customers, but sometimes you might need to make some additional changes depending on where you live and which ISP(s) you use.

If you follow the steps below, and you can’t receive or send email, please seeiPhone: Troubleshooting Email for help.

BEFORE YOU START: To set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch with your email, you need to know your POP or IMAP Email Server Settings and ports. To find them, go to the InfoCenter and write down the information that displays under Email Server Settings.

NOTE: Disable WiFi before you begin this process.

To Set up Email on Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Other.
  5. Tap Add Mail Account.
  6. Enter your Name, email AddressPassword, and a short Description for your email. Tap Next.
  7. If you have IMAP, tap IMAP. If you’re not sure, tap POP.
  8. Use these settings for your Incoming Mail Server, depending on the type of email account you have:
    POP
    Tap POP at the top.
    Host Name pop.secureserver.net
User Name Enter your full email address.
Password Enter your email account password.
    IMAP

    SMTP (Outgoing Mail Server)
    Host Name smtpout.secureserver.net
User Name Enter your full email address.
Password Enter your email account password.

NOTE: Even though iOS labels these fields as Optional, our email serversrequire them to send email.

  10. If you have IMAP, tap Next, and then tap Save. Otherwise, just tap Save.

That’s it. On your device, go to Mail (it’s usually in the row at the bottom of your screen). If everything is working OK, you should see some email messages. To make sure you can send messages, go ahead and compose an email and send it to yourself.

If you’re not receiving email messages or you can’t send messages, see iPhone: Troubleshooting Email. Don’t worry. There are a few things that can happen during the setup process. We’ll help you investigate and fix them.

New Facebook Ad Opportunities

In the past, Facebook has been timid about instituting new ad formats, especially anything that inappropriately disrupted the flow of user-generated content in a News Feed.

But the world’s most popular social network recently opened the floodgates for businesses by beta testingFacebook Offers, a new ad format tailored for merchants and small enterprises. When it finally comes online, this ad tool will enable your Facebook fans the opportunity to obtain discounts and offers from your business by clicking a “Get Offer” button appearing below special posts you send to their News Feed.

Users can then print and redeem your Offer at point-of-purchase, or show the Offer at your place of business using their mobile phone.

Unlike Facebook Check-In Deals, Facebook Offers doesn’t require users to check-in to a merchant’s physical location in order to take advantage of an offer. That’s likely to make Offers appealing to consumers who are wary of their Facebook Friends knowing where they are and what they’re buying.

Related: How Facebook’s ‘Offers’ and ‘Reach Generator’ Can Deliver More for Less

For now, Facebook is making Offers available to a limited number of local businesses worldwide, with plans to expand the program in the near future. (Business owners who want to participate in Offers can visit Facebook’s Offers Information Request page.)

In another pro-business move, Zuckerberg and Co. has snatched up both the team and the assets of mobile-based Tagtile, a Bay Area startup that helps local merchants offer and track mobile-initiated loyalty programs. Consumers who download the free Tagtile app (available for iPhone and Android users), redeem discount offers and earn “tags” when tapping their phone against the Tagtile Cube (a sleek point-of-purchase display that verifies and completes the offer).

Helping local businesses with a presence on Facebook identify, engage and increase repeat purchases from customers through a frictionless loyalty and direct marketing solution that integrates with Offers would be a genius move. I expect the physical cube to be shuttled aside once near field communication (NFC), which establishes radio communication between smartphones, becomes more accessible.

In the meantime, it’s fairly easy to imagine the attention that a Facebook-branded cube would attract at point of purchase.

Are you likely to take advantage of the Offers ad format for your business? Let us know in the comments below.
